When I started photoneg, it was primarily as a wedding photography business. Over the years, I have photographed hundreds of weddings in various locations, from Wakefield to the Lakes, John O'Groats, and even in Australia (admittedly, those were my brother's weddings).
As you can imagine, when I began, my style was very traditional. However, over the years, I have embraced the "Capture the Moment" style of photography, which unfolds naturally throughout the wedding day. Using my photographic skills, I now incorporate both traditional and candid styles.
In my everyday business of photographing houses, I always take a look at the wedding photographs the owners have on display. (Yes, I’m nosy, or you could call it professional interest.) They always have one or two posed, organised wedding photographs of the couple, usually in a beautiful location arranged by the photographer on the day. There are also a few candid shots capturing moments as they happened during the day. Finally, there are some family group photographs, which would not have happened without the photographer's direction and, in my case, my assistant's help.
